Are you a previous Prince of Wales Award recipient since its inception in 1984? ADF Reserves and Employer Support are calling for previous Prince of Wales Award recipients to attend a ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the prestigious scheme.
The 40th anniversary ceremonies will be held in each state and territory at Government Houses in early 2024 with previous alumni invited to attend to celebrate with current recipients.
Since the commencement of the awards in 1984, the scheme has seen over 350 successful applications, meaning 350 reservists have been afforded the opportunity to upskill in their civilian work; recognising and rewarding them for their ongoing commitment to service.
Major General Douglas Laidlaw commented on the significance of the 40th year ceremonies.
“With a strong history, the Prince of Wales awards are a longstanding tradition that provide excellent educational value and skills to reservists.”
“The prestigious 40th anniversary ceremonies are set to celebrate reservists and their civilian employers, as well as 40 years of this successful scheme” said Major General Laidlaw.
“We invite our incredible alumni to attend the 40th year anniversary ceremonies to be a part of history and receive recognition for their historical contributions.”
